Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 28 August 2026 · Provider: ClosetWiz Ltd (United Kingdom) · Contact: support@closetwiz.co.uk
These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and ClosetWiz Ltd (“ClosetWiz”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the ClosetWiz app, website, and services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for users in the United Kingdom; features such as payments and shipping are provided on that basis. By using the Service you confirm you meet these requirements.
2. Your account
- You register with an email address (verified by a one-time code) or with Google or Apple sign-in.
- You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person, one account. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, is used unlawfully, or creates risk for other users (see §12).
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or use the Service to harm, harass, threaten, or defraud others;
- post content that is illegal, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, deceptive, or otherwise objectionable;
- list counterfeit, stolen, unsafe, recalled, or otherwise prohibited items, or items you do not own or have the right to sell;
- impersonate anyone, misrepresent an item, or manipulate prices, reviews, offers, or listings;
- circumvent our fees, take a transaction off-platform to avoid buyer protection, or attempt to defraud the payment or shipping systems;
- scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or interfere with the Service, or bypass any security or moderation control;
- upload photos or content you do not have the right to use.
4. Your content and the licence you give us
“Your Content” means what you add to the Service — garment photos, item details, listings, look/outfit images, messages, and reports. You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant ClosetWiz a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, adapt (for example resize or remove image backgrounds), and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service — including showing your listings and shared looks in the marketplace and, where you choose to share, on public listing pages.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights to it and that it does not break these Terms. We may remove or restrict content that breaches these Terms or the law.
5. AI features
The Service uses artificial intelligence to tag your garments, remove photo backgrounds, and generate outfit and styling suggestions. AI outputs are provided for convenience, may be imperfect, and are not professional advice. How your photos are processed and which third parties are involved is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Objectionable content, reporting, and moderation
To keep the community safe, the Service provides tools to filter and moderate user-generated content and to handle abusive users:
- Filtering: listing text is automatically screened, and photos are checked, for prohibited or objectionable content before they go live.
- Report: you can report any listing or user from within the app.
- Block: you can block any user; blocking hides their content from you and yours from them.
- Action: we review reports and may remove content and suspend or ban users who post objectionable content or abuse others.
By posting content, you agree to these terms and to the community rules above. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
7. The marketplace
ClosetWiz is a venue that lets members buy and sell secondhand clothing and give items away. The contract of sale for an item is between the buyer and the seller; ClosetWiz is not a party to that contract and does not own, inspect, or take possession of items. We provide the platform, payment handling, and shipping tools that facilitate the transaction.
How a purchase works
- Buy Now: the buyer pays the listed price plus postage.
- Make an offer: the buyer proposes a price; the seller may accept or decline. Offers do not expire and are not exclusive — several buyers can hold offers on the same listing. Accepting an offer lets that buyer pay at the agreed price; the listing stays available and the first buyer to pay secures the item.
- Donations / free items: a free item is claimed rather than bought; the person claiming it pays only postage.
Seller responsibilities
- You must own the item and have the right to sell it, describe it accurately (including condition and any flaws), set a pickup address, and post it promptly once sold.
- You must not list prohibited, counterfeit, unsafe, or stolen items.
Buyer responsibilities
- You must provide an accurate delivery address and pay through the Service. Buying secondhand items carries normal wear; check the listing and ask the seller before buying.
8. Payments, fees, and buyer protection
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. By transacting you also agree to Stripe’s applicable terms.
| Item | Who pays | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Item price | Buyer | The Buy Now price or accepted offer |
| Postage | Buyer | The carrier rate, quoted at checkout |
| ClosetWiz seller fee | Seller | 10% of the item price (not postage), taken from the payout |
| Buyer fee | — | None |
Buyer protection. When you buy, your payment is held and only released to the seller after the item is delivered and a short protection window has passed. If an item does not arrive, or arrives significantly not as described, you can open an issue during that window and we may refund you from the held funds. Because funds are held on the platform until then, opening an issue in time is important.
Refunds and disputes. Where a dispute is resolved in the buyer’s favour before funds are released, you are refunded in full or in part from the held amount. Card chargebacks are handled through Stripe. Nothing here removes your statutory consumer rights.
9. Seller payouts
- To receive money you must complete Stripe Connect onboarding, including identity verification required by law.
- Your balance (sale price minus the 10% fee, plus the postage that covers your label) is held with Stripe and paid to your bank when you withdraw. A short reserve period may apply after a sale completes.
- Standard withdrawals are free; an optional instant withdrawal carries Stripe’s fee, which is passed to you.
10. Shipping
Shipping labels and tracking are provided through our carrier partner. The buyer pays postage at checkout; the seller buys the label and ships promptly. Delivery timing depends on the carrier. Risk in the item passes on delivery, at which point the item is added to the buyer’s wardrobe.
11. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, brand, and content we provide, belongs to ClosetWiz or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as allowed by law.
12. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties — for example Stripe (payments), our shipping carrier, cloud hosting and storage, and AI providers. Your use of those features may be subject to the third party’s terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create risk or harm for others, or where required by law. Some records tied to completed orders and payments are retained in anonymised form as described in the Privacy Policy. Outstanding obligations — delivering a sold item, or a balance owed — survive account closure.
14. Disclaimers
15. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud), and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law ClosetWiz is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data, or goodwill; and our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the fees we earned on the transaction giving rise to the claim, or £100.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify ClosetWiz against claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, your items, or your misuse of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.
17. Changes
We may update these Terms or the Service. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and the “Last updated” date will change. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
19. App Store (Apple)
If you downloaded the app from Apple’s App Store, the following also applies. These Terms are between you and ClosetWiz only, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product-liability, legal/regulatory, or intellectual-property claims. You must comply with the App Store Terms of Service and confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or on a U.S. prohibited-parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
